Radyr & Morganstown - Vision:
Radyr Baptists are part of the community: we hold our meetings in the Old Church Rooms, Radyr’s Community Centre, and in one another’s homes. We are:
Forward-looking and local: attracting people living in the wider Radyr catchment.
- Lively and serious in style: catering for parents, children, younger and older people.
-
Passionate about right relationships, community spirit and family life.
-
Relaxed and informal in feel but inspiring, worthy and dealing with real issues.
Community spirit, voluntary action, neighbourliness and responsible local leadership – these are some of the values that have benefited village life, and are now growing in the new situations faced by our rapidly-expanding community. RBC is a local church, serving the geographical area of Radyr and Morganstown. It is one of the church homes in Radyr for Christians who live out their witness in the Radyr area. We have some members from Whitchurch, and even Caerphilly. This reflects the importance of local home-based groups for committed Christians, in the area that they live. However, our focus of worship and mission together is as part of the community of Radyr and Morganstown. Our main meetings are held in the Old Church Rooms – Radyr’s community centre.
Radyr and Morganstown are two physically discrete villages that border the North-west of Cardiff, by the M4. Although they form part of the city of Cardiff, the conurbation of around 2,500 houses has a distinctive character and boasts its own identity. The local community life in Radyr and Morganstown is vibrant and involves over 60 local clubs and societies. There is a Community Council, which owns some public buildings and runs some local services. There is also an active Association, which manages the community centres and gets involved in issues relating to the community. It also organises an annual feature of Community life, the Festival Week, which celebrates many aspects of local culture and brings people together in a week of activities and festivities.
We are pleased to recommend the web-site that links together the community life of Radyr and Morganstown. If you would like to find out much more about the community then pay a visit to

RBC is a church that is growing through mission that builds community. This vision is a core goal in our mission statement.
We seek to be a church that has a valued place in the market-place and a transformative role in the community.
How are we doing this?
- Welcoming newcomers and making room to be open to their influence
-
Working together with industry, schools and groups to increase community capacity
-
Identifying and meeting needs through practical help, persuasive love and right relationships
-
Improving access to education in biblical reading and literary-historical interpretation
-
Networking opportunities to explore Christianity in relationships that people know and trust
-
Working together with people to discern, develop and release their gifts and passions
Working together with other churches to build a self-critical church with a public voice bonds of trust and respect, resources such as time and money for others, supportive networks, family cohesion, individual skills and confidence.
